WELCOME TO THE WVU TECH RESIDENCE LIFE AREA

Great News! – The WVU Tech Residence Life Office along with the West Virginia University Office of Housing and University Apartments are pleased to announce the opening of the new on line Housing Management System (HMS). HMS is designed to be a user friendly housing tool in which students select their own room and create a personal profile for selection of a roommate. This system will be available to you after you apply for Housing and pay your $100 deposit.

Current 2009 Spring Students - YOU WILL GET YOUR MIX ACCOUNT AND PASSWORD FROM YOUR ACADEMIC ADVISOR WHEN YOU PRE-REGISTER FOR FALL CLASSES! THIS WILL BE IN EARLY MARCH.
Incoming 2009 New Students and Transfers – YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR MIX ACCOUNT INFORMATION IN A LETTER FROM WVU TECH AFTER YOU ARE ADMITTED.

For your convenience, there are two ways you can apply for housing and pay the deposit:

1. Online: Complete the application and pay the deposit online through the STAR Information System, accessible through your WVU Mountaineer Information Xpress (MIX) account. In addition to the application and deposit, you will select your meal plan, and during your priority period you can also select your room.
2. Paper: Request a paper Housing application through STAR Information System. Follow the same steps below. On item six (6) click on "Request Paper Application" and submit. One will be mailed to your permanent home address. Complete the paper application and mail it in with your housing deposit.

To complete your Housing Application and pay your housing deposit online:

1. Sign into Mountaineer Information Xpress (MIX) using your MIX ID and password (you should have already received instructions for using the MIX account).
2. Click on the "STAR" tab.
3. Click on "Star Information System" link.
4. Click on "Student Financial Aid and Housing" link.
5. Click on "Housing" link.
6. Click on "Housing Application" link to complete the application and pay the deposit, or click the "Pay Housing Deposit" link if you have previously submitted the Housing Application.

Reminder: You must complete your Housing Application before the online system will allow you to pay your housing deposit. Once you have applied for Housing and paid your deposit you will be sent a letter or email explaining when your priority period for choosing your room will begin.

Summer 2009 Housing Contracts

To sign up for Summer housing:
We will continue to use our current paper contracts for the two 2009 summer terms. We are accepting summer 2009 Housing and Food Service contracts now. New residents will be assigned by date of Deposit/Contract. If you need a contract or more information use the "Housing Contracts" link on the left.  All summer 2009 assignments will be made in early May.
